SECA's third annual "Family of the Year Award"
The Southern End Community Association (SECA) is honored to present the Zellers Family of Quarryville Borough with SECA’s third annual “Family of the Year Award.”
Scott and Sherry Zellers have been part of the Solanco community for 5 years. They were both raised in Lancaster County. Scott is a graduate of Manheim Township and Sherry a graduate of Conestoga Valley. Scott is the Executive Chef of Jenner’s Pond Retirement Community in West Grove and Sherry runs a successful Home Party business. They have two children: Zach (age 9), a 3rd grade student at Quarryville Elementary School and JD (age 5), a Kindergarten student at Quarryville Elementary.
Over the past year, the Zellers have been participants in a wide variety of programs that SECA offers. The family is a season pass holder at the SECA Community Pool. Both Zach and JD were part of this past summers winning SECA Sharks Swim Team. Sherry is also a volunteer coach with the SECA Swim Team, helping the “mini” sharks improve their swimming. Zach and JD are also trying SECA Street Hockey this fall for the first time and Zach is a former karate student here at SECA. Sherry attends Yoga classes here at SECA also. Outside of SECA, the Zellers are also active within the community. Both Scott and Sherry are leaders of Cub Scout Pack 13 and Sherry is a member at Curves of Quarryville.
The Zellers stated that they are delighted to receive this award and to be a part of SECA. They feel that SECA offers great programs and community support and that the wide variety of activities, “offers something for everybody.”
The SECA “Family of the Year” Award was created in 2005 to recognize a family who participates in SECA Programs, supports the Solanco Community, and who best represents the philosophy of the SECA. These qualities are very true of the Zellers family.
The Southern End Community Association congratulates the Zellers Family as the 2007 SECA “Family of the Year.”
