Youth participate for two hours daily for one week. Students introduced to a variety of media and receive instruction, encouragement, and a safe space to explore and experiment. Our theme for the 2011 summer will be insects and birds. Drawing, painting, relief printmaking and collaboration on 3-D projects from recycled material will be among the activities for the classes. Older students will also explore printmaking through monotype and learn the art of papermaking. At the end of the program an exhibit will be held at the Quarryville Library. Young artists and their families and friends will be treated to an "Opening Night" where students will celebrate and showcase their work.
Instructor: Professional artist, Judeth Hawkins is returning for her seventh year.
